　　(一）译成相应的时间分句
　　1.From her second floor window she could see the postman when he came.
　　邮差来时，她从三楼的窗口望出去就可以看见。
　　2.After what had happened he could not continue to work there.
　　事情发生后，他无法在那里继续工作下去了。
　　3.As he ( Pierre) spoke, it was quite clear to them both that they would become millionaires if they should choose to do that.
　　在他（皮埃尔?居里）这样说的时候，他们俩（居里夫妇）都很清楚，如果 他们决定这样做，就会成为百万富翁。
　　4.I asked him whether he hadn^ had any good food while he was in France.

　　(二）译成并列分句

　　(三）译成“刚（_)……就……”的句型

　　2.Stormy applause broke forth the moment she appeared on the stage.

　　3.Scarcely had we gathered in the grain when it began to rain.
　　我们刚把粮食收进来，就下雨了。
　　4.The machine will start instantly the button is pressed.

　　(四）由until/till引导的从句译法
　　1.1 don like meeting people until I have this dental work done.
　　在我牙齿修补好之前，我不想会客。
　　分析:主句否定时，把until当作before来译。
　　2.Not until I had received his letter, did I understand why he had been absent from the meeting.
　　直到我收到了他的信后，才明白他缺席会议的原因Q 分析:原句是强调句，until当成after来译。
　　3.I waited for him till the sun set.
　　我等他一直等到日落西山Q
　　分析:当主句肯定时tni译为“直到……为止”。
　　(五）由 before 引出的时间状语从句
　　1.Unfortunately, he died before his wish could come true.
　　遗憾的是，他愿望还没有实现，就去世了。
　　2.It won’t be long before imperialism comes to its end.
　　帝国主义的末日快要来了。
　　3.But my teacher had been with me several weeks before I understood that everything has a name.
　　可是老师和我生活在一起几个星期之后，我才明白样样东西都有个名称。 分析:将从句译成正句，主句译成偏句，把before当成after来译，正句中 力口“才”加强语气。
　　4.The guerrillas would fight to death before they surrendered.
　　游击队员宁死不屈。

　　(六）将英语里表示时间的从句译成汉语的正句，专业翻译公司译者而将其主句译成偏句
　　1.l was halfway back when I heard the shots - two of them.
　　我往回走到半路上，听见了枪声--两响。
　　2.I was writing a letter to her when she came to visit me.

　　(七）时间状语从句的转换译法
　　由于英语本身有时存在着内容和形式不一致的情况，所以翻译公司的译者将有些形式上像时间状语的从句应按其逻辑关系译成原因、条件、让步、目的等偏句。
　　1.He was very much surprised when his visitor turned out to be a handsome young woman.
　　来客竟是一位年轻关貌的女士，他感到十分惊讶。
　　2.When you have finished your homework, you can go and play ball-games.
　　做完了家庭作业，你就可以出去打球了。
　　3.He usually walks when he might ride.
　　虽然有车可坐，但他通常总是步行。
　　4.Jane likes to dress in blue while Mary likes to dress in red.
　　简喜欢穿蓝色衣服，而玛丽喜欢穿红色衣服。
