等比句式的翻译技巧分析

　　等比句式表示两个相比较的事物出于同样的情况。
　　一、as……as……不仅指单纯的比较，还可以表示“既……又……”“同……一样。 (另外，这一结构还含有极比句式的意义，翻译公司的译者可以译为“非常”“之极”。）
　　(1)This method of measurement is as simple as practical.
　　这种测量方法既实用又简单。
　　(2)His trust in his friend was as firm as ever.
　　他对朋友的信任一如既往，毫不动摇。

　　二、no more than …和 no more ."than.这两种结构都表示前者与后者一样，通常专业翻译公司的译者翻译成“……同……一样……”
　　(1)This classroom is no larger than the next one.
　　这间教室与隔壁那间一样小。
　　(2)The lion is no more merciful than the tiger.
　　狮子与老虎同样残忍。
　　比较：The lion is not more merciful than the tiger.獅子并不比老虎仁慈。
　　(3)A causeless event or thing, we cannot think of any more than we can of a stick with only one end.
　　我们不可能设想有哪件事情是无缘无故产生的，就像我们不可能设想 有哪根棍子会只有一头一样。
　　三 、A is to B what C is to D (A 对于 B，如同 C 对于 D)
　　(1)A pen is to a writer what a gun to a soldier.
　　作家的笔就如同战士的枪一样Q
　　(2)Fertilizers are to the plant what food is to men.
　　肥料对植物来说就如同食物对人一样重要Q
　　四、may as well …as 和 might as wel]…as ( “如同一样”“犹　如……”）
　　(1)You may as well go to her place as let her come to your place.
　　你去她那里，如同让她到你这里来一样。
　　(2)One might as well expect the leopard to change its spots as expect him to change his hot temper.
　　指望他改掉火暴脾气，就如同指望豹子去掉身上的斑点一样。
　　五、It is in( with) - --as in( with) ( 同一样”“如同” “好比”“犹如……”）
　　(1 )It is in studying as in eating； he who does it gets the benefits, and not he who sees it done.
　　学习和吃饭一样，获益的是亲力亲为的人，而不是旁观者。
　　(2)It is in teaching as in learning which requires efforts.
　　教与学一样，都需要下功夫。
　　六、no less. ..than 禾口 no less than( no less-..than 结构才目当于 as.  as 或 the same amount of." as…通常译为“同样”或“既又”；no less than 是 no more than 的反义词，no more than可译为“只不过”，而no less than为“多达、无异于”。）
　　(1 ) Sunlight is no less necessary than fresh air to a healthy body.
　　阳光和清新的空气对健康的身体同样重要。
　　(2)Our soldiers fought with no less daring than skills.
　　我们的战士打起仗来有勇有谋。

　　七、as much as, as much, as many so many ( as much as' “无异于”“和……一样” “不仅而且”；as much常用于had expected as much, “早已料到如此”；asmany“一样多”，大小与前面的数字一致;so many表示“那么多”，通常北京翻译公司的译者不译出；如果前文有参照物，也应相应译出。）
　　(1)1 enjoyed the film as much as you did.
　　我和你一样喜欢这部电影。
　　(2)1 was not in the least surprised for I had expected as much.
　　我早已料到如此，一点也不吃惊。
　　(3)Those five days seemed to me as many years.
　　那五天对于我就像五年一样长。

　　八、as il is(置于句首,接在假设语气之后，it无意义，在许多场合下可用其他 同样意义的词语来代替;当as it is置于句尾时，接在名词或代词后，it指代前面 的名词或代词，有数的变化。）
　　(1)If I had relatives in foreign countries, I would go abroad. As it is，I can’t go.
　　如果我国外有亲戚，我就会出国了。可现在我去不了。
　　(2)We hoped things would go better, but as it is they are getting worse.
　　我们原指望事态好转，可事实上却更糟了。
　　(3)He finds fault with me as I am without having anything better to suggest.
　　他只是对我现在的一切加以指责，而没有提出什么良策。
　　九、 none + the + comparative (同以前一*样，没有更）
　　(1)His teaching work is none the worse for his old age.
　　他的教学工作不因年老而逊色。
　　(2)The political blunders he committed in the past made him none the wiser.
　　过去犯的政治错误没有使他变得聪明。
